Dear friends,
Any plans for the summer ? Well, if not, here's a proposal I find it real interesting for you guys:
International multidisciplinary workshop around the wooden church,
Crivina de Sus village, Timis county, ROMANIA (13 - 26th of July)
During a period of two weeks’ time, the Romanian Landscape Architects Association (AsoP) and REcult Association will organize at Crivina de Sus (Timiș county) a series of multidisciplinary activities during a workshop which will focus on the oldest wooden church in Banat (1676) which we want to restorate, situated in what is known as the Făget area, a complex and rich zone which preserves an important cultural material and immaterial heritage, among which the wooden churches are the most renowned.
The entire action is divided into several activities which include:
Architecture (mapping elements; comparative study Crivina – other similar cases in the area);
Landscape analysis;
Anthropological study (study on occupations);
In situ interventions (Gate, fence, Land Art).
All activities aim at involving the local population (especially youngsters and children) within the project by means of networking and integration activities.
This year’s workshop will continue the activities initiated in previous years by AsoP, mainly:
interventions in situ (building the main access gate in the cemetery, the adjacent whereabouts)
the analysis of architectural objects and their context (spatial, social, natural etc – a multidisciplinary study on the cemetery and the church, local anthropological studies), in order to achieve a complete, synthetic and detailed technical documentation that will form the basis for the budget preparation necessary for the restoration project;
a management plan (usage and maintenance) as well as
a regional strategy to promoting wooden heritage within the Făget area.
For further informations please reffer to the document DESCRIPTION and annexes (attached).
See also the project's FB page. We are working hard to release iin some days now our official webpage (Wooden churches. Sacred spaces carved in wood) where more informations about the project and workshop will be availbale.
